KALENA'S was founded by a young Italian named Carmine and his new bride Isa.   The newlyweds headed to Italy in the summer of 1967 on what was to become their first buying trip, which
incidentally doubled as their Honeymoon. 

Contrary to popular  opinion, KALENA is not the owner's last name.  The company is named for his home town and childhood soccer team.   The original store was founded with a belief in
providing fashion forward, high quality, Italian merchandise at
reasonable prices. 

Over the years KALENA'S has had several secondary locations,
including Vancouver Centre, Robson Street and Oakridge Centre, however, the Commercial Drive store located in the heart of
Little Italy has always been considered home.  It is from this
location that KALENA's can best provide its customers with    Vancouver's largest selection of Italian leather shoes and accessories for men, women and children, along with warm, personalized service.
